Brown Fields

This may be Allen or Mayra's picture. I neglected to scan one and both were similar.

Brown Fields

 Brown fields
The trees are bare.
They look like students
in a quiet straight line.

Suddenly there appears
out of nowhere a leaf.

A few days later appears
beautiful pink and white flowers
in my brown fields.

A few months go by and
little green balls appear all over the tree.

Then something magic happens.

The fruit gets larger and
turns into a beautiful peach.

I love to go out
into the brown fields.
I love to take a juicy
ripe peach off the tree.

I take it off the tree
and wash it.
Then I take a big bite and
juice runs down my chin.

I can't wait for another bite.

I love it when my mom
makes frozen peach salad.

It makes me sad when they
pick the wonderful peaches off the tree.

Then there is none for me to eat.

In the brown fields
the leaves are starting to change colors.
They remind me that the trees
are getting a hair cut.
