I have just begun teaching MicroWorlds after years of LogoWriter. I am
having some problems with the following: 1) Is there a MW equivalent for
the SHADE command found in LogoWriter and for RG? 2)I know you program the
computer to hatch new turtles with NEWTURTLE, but how do you rerun the
procedure? I always get the message that "t1 etc. are already in use even
if I removed the turtles at the end of the superprocedure. The same thing
happens with the textboxes. 3) I liked the abililty to run whole projects
with one superprocedure in LW, including the drawing of the landscape etc.
With MW, the students are having to do too much of that by "hand", then
doing the rest by procedures. What am I doing wrong here?
I find that a lot of the programming skills are being lost because it is
too easy for the students to just click on something and have it all done
for them. Can anyone help me? Thanks. Barbara Peters, St. Joseph Grade
