Our Macs came with lockable mice. The retaining ring holding the mouse
ball has a small hole in it. When you stick a straightened paper clip in
there you can rotate the ring an extra little bit, which locks it. This is
annoyingly difficult to do (and undo :) but I don't think any of the kids
have even tried to take out a mouseball. Their vandalism is mostly limited
to creating outrageous desktop patterns and blinding highlight colors.
