Dear Science teachers,
Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado and the NASA Space
Consortium would like to invite you to participate in a worldwide,
hands-on learning experience designed to determine the frequency of
meteor activity in your area. We are currently conducting this
experiment in ten high schools on the Colorado Western Slope and would
like to expand to other areas.
This project requires little time or expertise and all materials
will be provided by the college. It involves changing two microscope
slides on a collection apparatus twice a week and mailing the slides back
to Mesa State College once a week. We will count the particles and send
the results from all the participating schools back to you on a weekly
basis through Logo. There are 10 kits available and we would like to
have them in place as soon as possible. If you are interested and would
like additional information, please respond to:
krueck@Mesa5.Mesa.Colorado.edu
Thank you,
Karen Rueck and Roslyn Walter
Codirectors of Project Stardust
