LOGO-L> MicroWorlds (DOS) sound volume

Any one else have a problem with low sound volume on DOS version of
MicroWorlds?

I have a sound card and everything seems to be working OK (icons of different
instruments appear, I get paint sounds etc.) but even when I put my speaker
settings on maximum the sound volume is still quiet low. When I record a sound
through a microphone I can't speak in a natural voice, I have to shout.

This contrasts with playing a musical CD which is easily audible on a setting
of 2, compared with the maximum setting of 12 (on which I can hardly hear
MicroWorld sounds).

Any sharing of experiences here with other DOS users of MicroWorlds would be
much appreciated.
