Subject: Greeting

Greetings

I am a computer teacher in the Chesapeake Public schools in Chesapeake
VA. I teach in our Gifted and Talented Magnet school. We have a WEB site
at http://wwwp.exis.net/~gatelab/. This site tells about our programs and
features our 5th and 6th grade school where I teach. It also features
KIDSWEB which are pages that our students are creating. I am presently using
LOGO-WRITER
and I am waiting for my upgrade to Micro-Worlds to arrive. We do all the normal
LOGO stuff but 2 years ago I wrote an adventure game with LOGOWRITER (The
Grimstock Murder). Logo-writer worker well for this function. What I did is
create individual pages and then I tied them together with the GETPAGE
command. Students can create borders, write text and stamp shapes all over
the pages to create their own. If you have MW your kids can make more
sophisticated backgrounds. Anyway, If you haven't tried it before, it is a
lot of fun. I am using it again this year with the students. My goal is for
students, at least some of them, to create an adventue game of their own. My
E-MAIL is GATELAB@EXIS.NET if you want to get a hold of me directly. Anyway,
I've been on this forum for a while and felt, with some morning proding from
my E-MAIL, that I should introduce myself.

Jon Mumma
Computer Teacher
The GATE LAB school
