First off I think some talk radio is very conversational and
educational. Try listening to NPR.

Should all students know how to use an abacus?
At one time it was an important tool to learn.
Should all students all learn how to grow corn?
At one time it was an important trade to learn.
Should all students learn how to detect the presence of a witch?
At one time it was an important talent to have (in Salem MA).

There are only so many hours in a day for a teacher to teach
the current tools and skills of our society and age. It will
always be a debate as to what those tools should be.

Yes, the world does revolve a lot around money.
But to think the US government is conspiring against
the public means you've been reading too many news groups.
There will always be bad politicians and good ones.

The fact that you think the way you do is more disturbing
than anything you actually proposed is happening.
