LOGO-L> LOGO and LEGO

Greetings!
My name is Matt Jadud, a graduate student in the CS department at
Indiana University. I am currently beginning work on sketching out a new
course for non-CS majors at Indiana University; this course would be an
intro to programming concepts, focusing primarily on teamwork and
problem solving skills. Part of the inspiration for this course was the
release of LEGO's new MindStorms series, based on the PBrick research at
MIT.

To aid in introducing various programming concepts, I think I'd like
to use LOGO. This allows for some nice connections to be made, I think.
For example, I'm considering having students start out using LOGO for
some introductory work, and making one of their first 'robotics'
projects building a LEGO turtle that actually draws. Eventually, we'd
move primarily to programming just the LEGO PBrick, but I think I'd like
to start with something that allows for faster prototyping and
development of ideas..

My question to this group is this: can you recommend any texts that
I as an instructor/planner may find of use? Or, any texts that might be
particularly useful for the students in the class?

    Thank you,
    Matt Jadud
