Sean,

Newly hatched turtles in MW always have the pen in the up position so it
doesn't draw.  You need to type PD for pen down and then it will draw.  The
same is true for the turtle on a new project or new page.  The turtle
always starts with the pen up and you have to type PD to put the pen down
in order to draw.
