Hi Jim The time does look wrong doesn't it. It looks OK here but I'll investigate further. I understand your reservations on your approach. It all goes to teaching/learning philosophy and its the differences between us all that keeps the pot boiling and the interest high. I haven't been able to figure out the 'rc' problem and will refer it to George but I however a better solution. I've discovered that MSWLogo has a READWORD (RW) command which previous Logos I've worked with didn't. It's perfect for reading numbers in because it allows multiple digit and decimal numbers without the need to use the FIRST command and IT WORKS. So here is your solution: to GetFirstNumber ; A sample routine to demonstrate "readword" make "Number1 readword make "Number2 readword make "Answer :Number1 * :Number2 home cs ht label :Answer end ....and I suppose that means a more extensive rewrite of that page too.
