I almost feel logo should be compulsory everywhere. You may recall I asked your opinion of the LAP tests. The main reason was that Pat (year 5) had scored >= 7 levels for everything. In the recent Australia wide maths tests, 46 out of 126 <school x> students came in the top 10% When Charles was in g5 at <school y>, he came in the top 25%. In each of his 3 years at <school z> he's been in the top 1%...even winning money!! He has always been talented at maths but he also started logo at the end of g5. And logo hasn't just helped his maths. The initial music he programmed in g6 has lead to *industrial strength* "techno" and other composition. Apart from creativity,he has gained an empirical understanding of waves and frequency in physics which is causing considerable discomfort in his science teacher who has a phd in another field. Oh dear, the proud mother...
