LOGO-L> Having user input added to a list

I wrote a procedure that takes a name and tells you if it is male or
female.  I would like the procedure to tell the user if the name they
inputed is not listed. Then ask them if it is male or female so that
it can be added to the list.  How can I make it add it to the list
automatically?
