LOGO-L> logo interpreter in scheme

in my computer science class we are writing a logo interpreter in scheme. we
currently only have the functions forwardm backward, left, and right.  i'm
attemping to draw both a spiral of archimedes and an ordinary geometric
spiral using recursion with these functions. does anyone have any helpful
information relating to this or a clearer explanation of how the figures are
drawn
