Apple sales are now below 10% of the world market.
The ISA PC is a commodity product.
If we wish to promote Logo we need to use the most common platform.

At the end of term I really enjoyed dumping all our school's old Acorn kit 
in a skip and am about to sell my Mac. 

We use PCs because there are more addaptive interfaces available 
world-wide for handicapped kids and because the PC itself is available 
from any number of competing vendors - including local start-ups in Third 
World Countries for whom 'bother' might even be a learning and 
development opportunity. The PC may be a messy compromise but it is an 
open system - and so's life!
