This describes Morse code as a three-element code: dot, dash, and
space. But, Morse code is a two element code. It is a true binary code.
The duration of a dot is the basic timing element. It is the binary one.
A dash is three dots long. Or, three binary ones with no zeros between.
A space is the length as a dot, but it is a binary low. A space is used
to separate dots and dashes within a character. The space between
characters is the equivalent of three dots long, and that between words
is five dots long.

To Morse code *it is*:

I hope this is of some help.
