Micheal Wrote: Much as I despair at LCSI's MacHappy approach to Logo I enjoyed playing with MW almost as much as with LogoWriter. If you ignore all the tacky 'multimedia' overlay, there is an imperfect but interesting implementation which would stretch a degree level student. However, don't try to use it with an underpowered PC. Micheal O Duill While I agree that the new version of MW2 for Windows (anyway) does require a computer with grunt, the sheer fact that MicroWorlds 2 has all the lovely multimedia features should be a reason to use it. Why? It switches kids on. It's easy to use, unlike other versions of LOGO on the market. In a short period of time kids can produce good projects using LOGO programming. We use it on over 300 computers in our school and personally would not consider any other LOGO environment for our kids. While it lacks a couple of key features, such as being able to display animated GIF files, MicroWorlds 2 from LCSI would have to be the winner hands down.
