In-Reply-To: <01BC6440.7EB66B20@ip220-231.cc.interlog.com> Working with handicapped kids *does* mean that Logo is a hobby - one I share with teachers in Europe who work at many different levels. It is practical experience that has led me to consider matters theoretical. In the UK I am working with others (more able than myself) to develop an appropriate understanding of the computer in education. Logo is an important catalyst for this. We hope to be able to define new learning which assumes the computer and for which static media like books are inadequate. This clashes with our millennia old academic culture (particularly in the filed of mathematics). As our formulations are in their infancy we are still refining them. I am very grateful to all who counter the arguments we put forward for they help us sharpen our conceptions. Many thanks Micheal O Duill EuroLogo Scientific Committee Chairman --------------------------------------------------------------- Please post messages to the Logo forum to logo-l@gsn.org.
