Re: LOGO-L> Re: what good is Logo?

Gary:

This course sounds very interesting to me. Back in 1980 to 1983 I was a
Botany grad student studying liverworts (Hepatophyta, Jungermania sp to be
more specific). What I was really interested in was modeling plant growth
and development and then comparing the algorithms to ggain some insigght
into the process that were occuring in the plants. I got as far as
collecting and analyzing raw data that compared size and shapes of cells to
the resulting development and orientation of the plant. Not having made it
to the Phd level, I never really got to the core of what I wanted to study
-- the more theoretical areas of plant development. I have been trying to
get in touch with this side of things by review L-systems and other
theoretical models of development.

Please send me more info about the course you are preparing. Is there a
way to do an email extension ? What are you reading to help understand
these issues ?

Thanks,
