LOGO-L> Re: On sound

Check out MSWLogo from http://www.softronix.com

It offers access to the MIDI interface of your sound card.
You can select up to 128 instruments, have up to 4 notes
playing simultaneously and control timing etc.
The MIDI stream can be batched with timing codes to eliminate
Logo parsing speed and CPU speed differences.

There is a simple example of a MIDI Keyboard where you
can hold down up to 4 keys and they will all play
simultaneously and track the order of Down and Up
motions. MIDI even allows you to specify how fast
a Key is hit. You can use the mouse or other I/O device
as input as well.

The MIDI interface assumes you understand MIDI
controls codes with is summarized in the Online Help.
MIDI is not that complicated once you under stand
the basics. You need to understand "bit twiddling"
(i.e. ANDing and ORing bits and bytes to form the
MIDI codes you want to send).

A good book on the subject is highly recommended
one of which I refer to in the documentation.
