LOGO-L> Re: mswlogo 32 bit for windows 95

In the later versions of MSWLogo I put some
features in that have been requested for a long time but
is dangerous for novice users if they don't understand it.

Allowing you to save your workspace back to
MSWLogo and keep the editor up and running is dangerous
because your basically juggling 2 copies of the program.
The one in the editor and the one in MSWLogo's workspace.
The novice mode forces you to hand the code over and
exit the editor (which is the way older versions of MSWLogo
worked). This prevents you from juggling essentially 2 copies
of the code. Remember that Logo itself can manipulate (Edit)
the code (add procedures, remove procedures or redefine
procedures).

So if you leave logo in the default novice mode you must use
Save and Exit. If you want to keep the editor open (i.e. use Save
to Workspace) then you have to enable expert mode. Add a " -e"
(no quotes) to the end of the path to the executable on MSWLogo's
icon (shortcut using Win95 terminology).

Change

C:\MSWLogo\Logo.exe

to

C:\MSWLogo\Logo.exe -e

Search for "-e" in the online help for more info.
