Hi Barbara,

I often start my students out with a unit on Geometry which gets them
familiar with the turtle and eventually writing procedures.  I have posted
some of the handouts that I use in my classroom which you are welcome to
print out and use.  It's important to give the students plenty of time to
experiment with each new handout that you give them.  I make part of their
grade "participation" which I define as experimenting with the Logo
commands just learned in an assignment.  It's particularly useful to have
them make up their own procedures after they learn how to write a
procedure.  Here's the URL:
