Yes, Yes, Yes, I agree 100% (which I don't often do:>)! My classroom is living proof of this. The first year we took the Ohio Proficiency test 9% of our students passed. Last year 26% passed. This year I told my students that if 60% of them pass the Science portion of the proficiency test I will let Ms. King, the Principal, shave my head, with poodle clippers, in front of the whole school. Ms. King went crazy with the idea (I pick on her ALOT) and told the kids she would call the newspaper and TV. I'm going to prove that success in passing a multiple choice proficiency test is more a matter of motivation then it is knowing facts! One Happy Teacher!!!!!
